About Safe Place Supporting Survivors of Human Trafficking
WHAT We DO
Our mission is to offer hope and a future to minors who have survived human trafficking. Through our partners in Romania, we teach, train and facilitate workers specialized in aftercare for child trafficked survivors.
Our Approach
We identifyi and fund organizations who provide direct services to survivors of human trafficking, partnering with those who have experience, follow best practices and can train and instruct other organizations or entities in their community.
Our Team
Founded in 2013, Safe Place Supporting Survivors of Human Trafficking has been identifying partners in Eastern Europe to provide support for child trafficked victims, for over 10 years.
Founder Pamela Rigdon
Lived and worked in Romania with Hand in Hand Foundation for eight years. She developed working relationships with partners providing care for children living on the street, where she first encountered children who were being trafficked. pamr@unbindthem.org
Secretary Treasurer Cathy Searles
Cathy taught at Clackamas Community College for over 30 years, in a program specifically targeting historically underserved students, including survivors of human trafficking. She served as a volunteer for a variety of nonprofit organizations serving individuals and families with incomes below the poverty threshold. Currently Cathy is a liaison with Love INC of Clackamas County, assisting families to become self-sufficient through education, mentorship and community support. cathys@unbindthem.org
